The late September flood was devastating for HIDDEN MOUNTAIN and our members that lived through the storm. Most of Hidden Mountain's infrastructure, near the river, was destroyed, entrance structure gone, greenway trees gone, pavilion gone, and mailbox pergola gone while leaving wrecked travel trailers and mountains of debris in its place. Roads to Hidden Mountain were destroyed and impassable for  three days after the flood and barely passable for three weeks. Power and communications infrastructure were also destroyed and not restored for three weeks.

With the support of neighbors, community members, volunteers, DOT, FEMA and the power industry, Hidden Mountain is in the recovery mode. Roads are finally passable, power is restored, internet is finally available, mail service is restored and vast amounts of wreckage and debris have been hauled away. Our good friend, Danny Phipps deserves special thanks for this initial cleanup requiring skilled use of heavy equipment. He has donated many hours of his time and copious amounts of diesel fuel to get the vast amount of wreckage removed. This is an ongoing process and lots more will need to be done to get our community ready for restoration.
